Divided by the majestic Vltava River, the city has been witnessing history since the first Slavic settlements in the 6th century. Over the centuries, Prague has grown into one of Europe’s most remarkable cultural and architectural treasures, where nearly every corner tells a fascinating story.
One of Prague’s greatest strengths is the exceptional preservation of its historic heritage. Even today, you can admire rare examples of Romanesque architecture dating back to the 10th century within the grounds of Prague Castle. Covering almost 70,000 m², it is the largest coherent castle complex in the world – officially recognized by Guinness World Records.
Prague experienced its golden age in the mid-14th century during the reign of its greatest ruler, King Charles IV. Under his visionary leadership, the city flourished into one of Europe’s most important capitals. He commissioned iconic landmarks such as the magnificent Charles Bridge and St. Vitus Cathedral, and founded Charles University, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe.
Prague also earned a reputation as one of medieval Europe’s leading centres of science, astronomy, and learning. Renowned scholars and historical figures, including astronomers, alchemists, and artists were drawn to the city, leaving behind a notable intellectual & cultural legacy that can still be felt today.

We’ll drive between the city’s more distant highlights, while exploring the charming cobblestone streets and hidden corners of the historic centre on foot.

In just eight hours, you’ll discover an incredible variety of Prague’s highlights, yet you’ll always have enough time to admire the sights, capture memorable photographs, and truly soak up the unique atmosphere of each location.

Our route has been carefully planned to minimize unnecessary walking and maximize your comfort. Most of the walk is either on level ground or gently downhill, and every stop follows a logical sequence, ensuring that we never waste your valuable holiday time by retracing our steps.
Your day begins with a 9:00 AM pickup directly from your hotel in Prague. From there, we’ll drive towards the Castle District, making a brief stop along the way at one of the city’s most spectacular viewpoints. Here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the Vltava River, its beautiful bridges, and Prague’s iconic skyline—the perfect opportunity to capture your first unforgettable photos.
Continuing up to Prague Castle, we’ll park nearby and begin our leisurely walking tour. Our first stop will be the magnificent library of Strahov Monastery, one of the most beautiful historic libraries in Europe, offering a wonderful introduction to the architectural and cultural treasures that await throughout the day. Before continuing our exploration, we’ll pause at one of our favourite local cafés, where you can enjoy excellent coffee accompanied by a delicious fresh pastry.
Refreshed and ready to continue, we’ll step into the magnificent grounds of Prague Castle to explore the city’s most important historical landmark. Highlights include the awe-inspiring St. Vitus Cathedral and the picturesque Golden Lane, where Franz Kafka – one of the Czech Republic’s most celebrated writers – briefly lived in House No. 22.
From there, we’ll make our way through the beautiful South Gardens of Prague Castle, where another spectacular panoramic view of Prague awaits. Our walk then continues down the historic Nerudova Street, one of the city’s most charming thoroughfares, leading us into the heart of the Lesser Town.
Along the way, we’ll discover several of Prague’s hidden treasures, including the colourful John Lennon Wall, the historic Velkopřevorský Mill on Kampa Island with its famous water wheel, and the enchanting Vrtba Garden – one of the finest Baroque gardens in the city.
Our journey then continues across the world-famous Charles Bridge, one of Prague’s most iconic landmarks. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to climb the 138 steps of the Old Town Bridge Tower for another breathtaking panoramic view over the city – entirely optional, but highly recommended for those who don’t mind a few stairs.
From there, we’ll stroll into the heart of the Old Town to admire the magnificent Old Town Square and its world-renowned Astronomical Clock, before continuing through the historic Jewish Quarter, where your guide will introduce you to another fascinating chapter of Prague’s rich history.
At approximately 1:00 PM, you’ll enjoy one hour of free time to explore at your own pace, browse the nearby shops, or simply relax in one of the many cafés around the square. During this time, your guide will return to the vehicle and then pick you up again for a short drive to one of Prague’s legendary breweries, where you’ll enjoy a delicious traditional Czech lunch.
After lunch, we’ll continue to Vysehrad, one of Prague’s oldest and most historically significant landmarks. Perched high above the Vltava River, this peaceful fortress offers a completely different atmosphere from the bustling city centre. Here, you’ll visit the famous Vysehrad Cemetery, the final resting place of many of the Czech Republic’s most celebrated historical figures, step inside the beautifully decorated Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul, and enjoy several picturesque viewpoints overlooking the city.
On our way back, we’ll make a few short photo stops at some of Prague’s architectural icons, including the spectacular Dancing House, the elegant National Theatre, and the impressive National Museum dominating the top of Wenceslas Square.
By approximately 5:00 PM, we’ll return you safely to your hotel after a day filled with unforgettable sights, fascinating stories, and authentic local experiences. By then, you’ll be completely “Praguetized!” 🙂

Would you rather skip the Strahov Library or not climb the tower? No problem. Prefer to spend more time at Prague Castle, enjoy a longer coffee break, choose a different restaurant for lunch, or simply wander through the Old Town at your own pace? That’s absolutely fine too.
