About this Tour
11-Day Grand Tour of Germany from Prague
Discover the very best of Germany – with a little taste of France along the way. Over 11 unforgettable days, we’ll take you on an extraordinary private roundtrip from Prague through Germany’s most fascinating cities, charming medieval towns, spectacular landscapes, legendary castles, and world-famous wine regions – with a delightful detour into France’s beautiful Alsace region.
We’ll begin by heading north to Dresden and Berlin, including a visit to the magnificent Sanssouci Palace in nearby Potsdam. From there, we’ll turn south and journey through the historic town of Wittenberg, closely associated with Martin Luther, and beautiful Erfurt, before continuing to charming Bamberg and historic Nuremberg, where medieval heritage meets some of the most important WWII sites in Germany.
Next comes Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of Germany’s most enchanting medieval towns, followed by Heidelberg, home to Germany’s oldest university and one of the country’s most romantic old towns, crowned by its impressive hilltop castle.
Then the scenery changes dramatically as we reach the Rhine and Moselle valleys – a true paradise for wine lovers. Vineyards climb the hillsides while magnificent castles, picturesque villages, and historic towns line the winding rivers, creating some of the most beautiful scenery in western Germany.
And just when you think we’ve seen it all, we’ll cross the border into France and explore the enchanting Alsace region. We’ll discover the distinctive architecture and atmosphere of Strasbourg, Colmar, and Eguisheim, before returning to Germany and continuing into the legendary Black Forest.
Here, we’ll experience the landscapes and traditions that made the region famous – from charming villages and cuckoo clocks to the delicious Black Forest ham and cake. We’ll also visit the area where the Danube begins its long journey across Europe, before heading into Bavaria for one of Germany’s ultimate fairytale experiences: the spectacular Neuschwanstein Castle.
Our journey continues to Munich, Bavaria’s vibrant capital, before we make our final stop in the Czech Republic. In beautifully preserved Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO-listed medieval gem, you can slow down, wander its picturesque streets, and soak up the atmosphere before returning to Prague.
Eleven days, two countries, one unforgettable journey – and the ultimate way to discover Germany from Prague.
What makes our multi-day journeys special is not simply how many places we visit, but how efficiently and comfortably we connect them. Instead of losing valuable vacation time at airports, train stations, rental-car counters or search for a single day tours, you’ll travel privately from door to door, with your own experienced driver and local guide throughout the journey.
We take care of the driving, navigation, parking and logistics, while you simply enjoy the scenery, the stories, the food and the places along the way.
It is an active way of traveling, but never a rushed one – allowing you to experience far more of Europe in a single journey than would be practical on your own, while still having the comfort, flexibility and personal attention of a private tour.
That’s the way we believe Europe should be experienced. 😉
